Joining us In order to join as a full member, you will need to take and pass the Advanced Driving Test. To help achieve this goal, you can also become an “associate” member of IAM Roadsmart in order to join a local group such as ours. There are many reasons for doing this, but primarily it gives you access to our "observed drives". These drives help develop & tune your skills in preparation for the test. To become an Associate member, you can purchase our "Advanced Driver Course" package.    Advanced Driver Course The Advanced Driver Course is a package that gives you everything you need in order to work towards & pass your Advanced Driving Test. The scheme is provided directly by IAM Roadsmart and includes ... • Associate membership of a local group such as LAM, with invitations to group events. • An initial assessment with one of our fully trained observers. • The ability to book assessment & observed drives with LAM, in order to help coach you in preparation for your Advanced Driving Test. • A copy of the "Advanced Driver Course" handbook, the authoritative guidebook to advanced driving techniques. • Your Advanced Driving Test with a qualified examiner. • An IAM Roadsmart Advanced Driving Certificate on passing the test. Upon passing the Advanced Driving Test, the course also covers your first year's membership of IAM Roadsmart, including ... • The award winning membership magazine "Advanced Driving". • Access to a host of membership benefits, privileges and discounts. • The potential for insurance policy discounts Member assessments If you’re already a member but wish to check your driving & maybe make some additional improvements, then IAM Roadsmart's member assessment scheme is for you! For a one-off fee, they will arrange a single check drive with one of their examiners and includes the drive itself and a full debrief.
